The link shows the date of 2010/02/ so I'm guessing the pics have been reposted from another site. I remember seeing them in the past, but can't recall the site.

I would say that a store looking this bad is not the norm, but from the pics, I would say they were taken during the Christmas holidays, when the stores are shopped the most. We have about half the staffing we had when I started working for WM several years ago, so it is much harder to keep a store like WM as clean as it should be. In their drive to make even more profits (with fewer employees), pictures like these may become the norm.

It's always worth a repost, so we know how bad things can become in short order.

Shalom Just Me,

Such are the hazards of the Internet. In old media an expose written in 1977 would play for a day, maybe a week and then disappear into oblivion.

Fast forward 30 years to 2007 and a story will never go away, ready to be rediscovered again and again by people ready to be educated.

I'll accept that a Walmart could get this trashed in a single day, but if that's the norm, it makes my point: by underhiring and underpaying employees, the company fosters the environment where this sad state can become a norm.

B'shalom,

Jeff

Those pictures have been around for a while. (Note the 2007 calendar display.) I've seen our store look almost that bad after one hard day of customer shopping. And if several employees decided to miss work that day, it could extend to another day. I'd like to see this same store a day or so after these pictures were taken. Being shorthanded like we usually are does make it very hard to keep a store clean, tho.
