Edelman and Wal-Mart are still lying to the blogosphere
Peter’s find deserves its own post. Here’s Kate Marshall’s job description at Paid Critics:
Kate Marshall works for Edelman. One of her clients is Working Families for Wal-Mart.
Here’s Kate Marshall describing her job to other alumni of the James Madison University School of Media Arts and Design:
I’m onto job #2, this time working as an account exec at Edelman Public Relations Worldwide in DC. I work on the Wal-Mart account and am usually responsible for researching, creating backgrounders, fact sheets, and talking points, and pitching the media.
[Emphasis added]
The Working Families for Wal-Mart account IS the Wal-Mart account. I realize everybody with half a brain in their head knows this, but this is nonetheless an important distinction since Wal-Mart spokespeople still make claims like this:
“We won’t comment on the RV tour, since it was a Working Families for Wal-Mart initiative and we didn’t have anything to do with it.”
Again, WHY DOESN’T ANYBODY SEEM TO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THIS?
I do have a problem. The sad thing is some bloggers say, Oh, it´s so obvious they´re paid by Wal-Mart. But your find maybe will change the whole thing
Lying in the making: Edelman is changing the author-IDs on forwalmart, too:
