Forget bomb threats at Wal Mart, kids are planting the real thing. In several Wallyplex videos I've shown teenagers running around the inside of Wal Marts at 3 a.m. Now they're blowing stuff up with acid bombs. From The Village Soup Times: The State Fire Marshal's Office reported early Sunday morning that two teenage boys were charged with setting off two acid bombs Saturday afternoon inside the Skowhegan Wal-Mart. The two 15-year-old males were arrested after their faces were shown on Maine television newscasts late Saturday night. Maine Public Safety spokesperson Steve McCausland said investigators had already identified the boys by the time their photos were broadcast, as investigators had stopped late Saturday night to eat at McDonald's in Skowhegan, had showed local teenagers the photos and learned the boys' identities. I have no doubt that the two boys couldn't have cared less about where they set off their bomb. Wal Mart was handy, it was empty and it represented some kind of nebulous corporate badness in their adolescent universe. That kids wander the aisles in the small hours of the night is not Wal Mart's fault; that's a parental and societal issue. I don't have a solution for that huge problem, but I do expect that its something that Wal Mart, whether it wants to or not, is going to have to deal with. Jeff Hess: Have Coffee Will Write.

  1. […] First it was bored teenagers and acid bombs. Now it’s shopplifters and exploding pool chemicals? I don’t know for sure what they mixed (if I did, I wouldn’t write about it) but these low lifes are part of a trend and it’s not a pretty one. From Faux News: […]

“That kinds wander the ailes in the small hours of the night is not Walmarts fault; that’s parental and societal issue” i find that statement offensive because one of the boys parents are dead and the other away in a different country and people shouldnt blam it on parents.. it is not all there fault.. i know that it wasnt right that the boys bombed walmart but the stories have gotten wayyy out of hand.. first of all they DID NOT steal anything from walmart and second of all it WAS NOT ACID BOMBS.. i think it is dumb that people are maiking the story 10 times worse than it is..

    Shalom Casey,

First, thank you for stopping in, for reading and, most importantly, for taking the time to write a comment. It’s all about the conversation.

OK. I’m listening. What possibly could make it acceptable to set off even a penny firecracker in a Wal-Mart?
