STEALYARD COMMONS… TAKE III…
Clevelanders are getting hotter and hotter under the collar as they discover the royal screwing given to them in the economic dispoilment known as Stealyard Commons. Wendell left this comment on Tim Ferris’s blog this morning.
From Save Our Land:
There was a collective “no duh” comment from my friends in the land development industry about this “newest” bit of information as it relates to Steelyard. Everybody (and anybody) in the business is well aware of these tax abatements… in fact it was one of the questions that was posed to former council president (now mayor) Frank Jackson by local concerned parties at the time Schneider was beginning the process of assembling the land and commitments.
The real question here is what took the local media so long to happen onto this story. Could it be that they were too busy “believing in Cleveland” (or at least its cadre of leaders) to take a closer look?
I belieevvveeee! Lawd gawd, I do believe… Praise Jane and bless Darth Schneider.
