Why, with all the hatred, pain, suffering and injustice in the world, has a tiny but shrill minority of christianists chosen to devote such copious amounts of their time, wealth and energy to battling a fantastical threat from homosexuals? The American Family Association, an organization that credits itself with turning Wal-Mart away from the gay menace, has a we stomped them before and we can stomp them again attitude. The issue will be a minor sideshow this winter, but I found the comments to the AFA post interesting. Who cares if homosexuals boycott Walmart? There are more Christians in this world than homosexuals. I support Walmart and will shop mostly there than anywhere else this season and any season. Why don't we Christians boycott Target? I'm going to! Finally a store that is willing to stand up for the moral character this country was founded on. I think this is definitely a step in the right direction! I don't have a Target where I live, fortunately, but I do have a Wal-Mart superstore! I am going to make sure I give Walmart a lot of business this holiday season. And I also will NOT be shopping at Target anymore! If you consider yourself a true Christian, put your money where your faith is, and don't buckle under and endorse any business that is going down the path of the worldly, and Satan. Demonstrate to your children that we Christians do have a narrow path to stay on, and not wander off of. I wish more companies would follow suit. There are many that do offer insurance and benefits to unmarried couples. By offering insurance to unmarried couples they reduce the benefits of married couples and increases medical costs. Then there was this comment: Let's not go overboard and send people to Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart is not denying gay partner benefits because they are attempting to do something right, they just do not want to spend the money. In Ohio single family mothers working full time at Wal-Mart can not afford health care coverage that Wal Mart offers. At Target a single mother can. So who is right?? Don't get me wrong I applaud what you are doing, I sent Wal Mart an email in 2006. They still carry gay and lesbian books and magazines in their stores. Thanks for all you you do!! People are listening and acting. I love your radio station and alerts. Keep up the awesome work for the family. I think the Ghost of Christmas Hatred must have been boycotting Dickens.
