“You don’t have to pass an IQ test to be in the Senate.”

Politico explains how Walmart can single-handedly stop needed labor law reform that could put money in the pockets of its own customers:

Card check passed the House in March 2007 and narrowly failed in the Senate. Only one Senate Republican, Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania, broke party ranks to support cloture.

Now, labor unions are hopeful the expanded Democratic majority could help the bill win passage in the Senate. But several moderate Democratic senators have expressed concerns about the legislation over the past few months.

Arkansas Democratic Sens. Blanche L. Lincoln and Mark Pryor, who count nonunion Wal-Mart as a corporate constituent, have signaled they may not vote for the bill.

Mark Pryor. Hmmmmmm. Where have I seen Mark Pryor recently?:

Coincidence?
