A HAPPY, BLOGGING WALMART SHOPPER…

I asked readers to send me links to blogs that featured posts from happy Walmart shoppers. So far no one has raised their hand, but in the interest of fairness, I did find a happy Walmart blogger in Amman, Jordan. Well, she’s at least writing from Amman.

From A Tale Of Three Beans:

Recently a well-heeled family member proclaimed that they aren’t Wal-Mart kind of people. Now, mind you, they have the cash in hand to not be Wal-Mart people. But then again, most days so do we. And yet, I am totally and unapologetically a Wal-Mart person. Any give day, you will see the Beans and I in 90% items from Wal-Mart. Living in Jordan has made me far more of a Wal-Mart mom than I was before. After buying items in Jordan that fall apart after 3 hand washings and cost twice as much as comparable good at Wal-Mart, I’m all for low prices and good quality.

No, there aren’t any Walmarts in Amman, or any other part of, Jordan. Clearly the shopper is buying clothes back home in Alabama when she has the chance.

I have to ask, though, if you have to fly nearly 7,000 miles to shop at Walmart, how much of a bargain can it really be?

i am not only a happy customer, i am also a happy employee….wm does alot of things wrong, but they do a tremendous amount of things right.
where else can you go shopping and leave your car to get your new tires or oil change wiper blades and battery.
at my walmart you can get a haircut, get fitted for new glasses, do your banking, buy a house, get your nails done, by any kind of nice clothes, buy a world class big screen tv, all the cds and dvds in the world.
fill your cart with live lobsters, steamed free, big juicy steaks, miles of cereals and chips and fried chicken from the deli.
is walmart perfect…..no way………..is it the biggest retailer in the world because it sells everything at rock bottom prices…..absolutely.
folks hate walmart because of its size and power…….but its exactly its size that gives you so much variety and buying power….and saving money is what its all about these days
as far as employment walmart is a good job if you work hard and want to climb the ladder, slackers need not apply, with all its faults walmart is a good place to work for with good benefits and pay.

      Shalom Mike,

First, thank you for stopping in, for reading and, most importantly, for taking the time to share your views. We build our community with our conversations.

There is so much in your comment, I’m not sure where to begin, but I’ll give two of your points a go.

Those big juicy steaks?. Maybe you should read some of the meat horror stories we’ve posted.

Those rock bottom prices? You might not feel the same way when you see what comparison shoppers have discovered.

      B’shalom,

      Jeff

hey all im saying…….and you should know this….nobody dragged us off the street to work at walmart, its corporate america and its working for a big box store with all its bs….. if you got ten years in, you are making a pretty nice pay check and shouldnt bitch.
at my store everyone has a long face, bitches about working for wallyworld 24/7 to any other associate that will listen.
hate the job……….quit and find one thats better………this is america and its still a free country for now… to expand your horizons and career.
all my managers drive nice cars and ten year plus associates are making 14 to 16 bucks an hour……….not bad for staying inside all day and in this rural town…..anything above 12 bucks is considered GREAT PAY.
i try to come to work with a little joy in my heart and ignore the bs that comes with the job….and yes there is much of that to deal with.
but life wasnt meant to be fair and easy……and an easy solution to any job is to find a better one that you can live with.
and im 59…work 32 hrs part time and work my ass off for the company and feel lucky to have a job in this economy.
if walmart sucks so bad……find something else…..the fact that you have stayed ten years must mean you are doing a good job for them otherwise you would be gone.
for all walmart employees that hate their careers………..what part of working for a big box store didnt you understand??? it was supposed to be a low paying thankless job when you applied for the job……what else is new.
work with a smile or find some other job that does…….nobody is forced to stay at walmart
for all the associates that hate happy employees……..maybe the problem is something you dont want to face…yourself….. and leaving the safety of walmart and finding A REAL JOB that you enjoy.

thanks for listening………..have a great day!!
