Do you really want to save money?

Try cremation instead. It’s also the greener way to go, but apparently Walmart only cares about the environment selectively.

    Jonathan:

Yesteday, I first became aware of the passing of Robert Feinman. All of you here on “The Wal” have to especially feel the loss.

I wanted to share my sympathy. I tried to make a post yesterday to your blog, but for some reason it didn’t take. Basically what I said was that I and a few others will also miss his contributions over at the Walmartwatch blog. I always enjoyed reading his insightful criticism of Walmart.

I did make a posting of the news over there, for the benefit of anyone who cares. I also had to “take Someone in USA to the woodshed” for not sharing the sad news with us. He obviously knew about this and never mentioned it. Speaking of “Someone,”
I found it more than a little curious that he commented how he was “fond of lifting certain ideas of his [Robert Feinman] to take back to Bentonville.” If that doesn’t sound like a Troll, I don’t know what does? Did any of you ever take him to task over that remark? I’m curious why you haven’t “frisked, deleted, and banned” him yet.

Once again, I’m sorry to hear the belated news. The blogging communities have lost a good voice.

  3. Screwed,

I think I can speak for Jeff here and say how much we appreciate the kind words about Robert as we still miss him here very much. I’m sorry that I didn’t think of dropping a note over at Wal-Mart Watch, but then I was never much for reading the comments over there even in the heyday of that site.

As for “Someone in the USA,” what can I say? As we are very fond of reaching out across the aisle around here, you’d have to be pretty awful to get banned around here. Besides, we like Someone!* It is possible to work for an evil company and not be evil. More importantly, if we stop talking to people from Walmart how will they ever change? Do you think the Waltons are suddenly going to grow a sense of empathy?

    * We even like Bob, no matter how much he drove (and still drives) both Robert and I insane. Keeps us on our toes, you know.

So does this mean we’re all going to meet down in Bentonville next year for Shareholder’s?

  4. Not if it’s the first week of June again.

    Thank you Jonathan!

I’m a little disappointed in the lack of responses and expressions of sympathy over at the WalmartWatch blog after I posted the “news” of Robert Feinman’s passing.

It’s especially puzzling to me because certain individuals who still post there, have had some lengthy “interactions” with Mr. Feinman. I’m also somewhat perturbed that nobody at WMW, who alledgedly is “monitoring” the blog, had anything to say as well.

I would like to share this however… “billybob (RDS/Bob) whatever you prefer had this comment: “He was one of the ‘good’ people.”

This is probably the only thing “billybob” and I have agreed on in over 4 years!
